Over the past few weeks, I have been working with professional video cameras and editing. I have learned new camera techniques such as white balancing, and ways to get wide, medium, tight, and extreme tight shots. I learned the importance of certain shots too. With wide shots, the location is established. With medium shots, the main focus of the shot is established. And with tight and extreme tight shots, the action of the focus is revealed. Also, certain techniques that stuck with me were white-balancing and adjusting my tripod. With white balancing, you can focus on a white surface to give the rest of the shot better focus. Also, adjusting the tripod that your camera is on can give your shot better positioning. While I enjoyed the camera work, I feel as though I was more taken with editing. With editing, I learned how to adjust audio, add transitions in between shots, and color balance the shots to make everything look better. With transitions, you can make the shift between shots more smooth. You can also add transitions between bits of audio to make the sound change between shots less abrupt. Color balancing is also a very important techniques to know. It can be used to make the colors more accurate and look better on screen.
